Story

Inspired by my man, Eric.  Doper than any man has any right to be.  He put me on that Velvet Underground sample in the intro.  This song changed a bit from what it was to what it is - for the better, I think.  The whole second part was an iteration of the first half at first, but I felt that it needed more, more.

Story

I'm sampling Jethro Tull.  That's right.  Jethro.  Tull.  To be honest, this song turned out to be one of those love-it-or-hate-it songs with focus groups (basically, a handful of friends).  A pretty much even split, really.  But I have veto power and it stays.

And I think it's good.  So there's that.

Simple.  Jazz sample.  Beat.  Go.

Story

Added for variety.  I know I said I was going for a straight ahead hip-hop album, but I had this melody in my head and I had to put it down.  It ended up being way better than I imagined, so I included it.

Story

If I had to say there was a theme to BACP, it would be that I was going to commit to a more-or-less straight ahead hip-hop record with a really eclectic sample set.  This was the first of a set of songs I made with that in mind, and what better genre of music to mine than prog-rock?  Yes, prog-rock.  Doper than you think, actually.

This is the instrumental to one of my Beastie Suite mixes.  Too dope to not get shine on its own.

Story

One of the first songs I wrote for BACP and, oddly enough, this one went through the least amount of iterations from it's initial forms to what it is now.

By far, my favorite song on BACP...
